We were commissioned by Susan Sheridan Consulting to develop a new website, brand identity and range of marketing materials for their business.
Susan is a freelance Fundraising Consultant based in Gartcosh, near Glasgow. She has spent 10 years helping Third Sector organisations across Scotland successfully source and secure funding. Occupying Development Manager and Assessor roles, Susan is well placed to advise on the best approach to completing applications.
She specialises in three key areas:
- Research & planning
- Case for support
- Fundraising
She has worked for organisations including Bobath Cerebral Palsy Centre and Sepsis Research FEAT.
Solutions
Brand identity
We worked with Susan on the development of a logo for her business. Adopting the theme of growth, we incorporated a flower motif to sit alongside the name of her business.
This motif features subtle elements related to Susan’s business. The stem includes two S-curves (a bend in the main stem and a more pronounced one at the bottom), representing Susan’s initials.
The leaves are positioned to reflect the GB Pound symbol (£). The lower leaf is an empty outline while those further up feature increasing levels of fill. This is designed to represent the increase in funding throughout a project.
The text and motif can either be combined or used independently of each other.
Website
We developed a website using WordPress as a content management system (CMS). Susan had used this platform extensively in previous roles so was already familiar with the interface. We conducted a training session on new functionality, including the Elementor plugin used to structure the homepage.
We incorporated website tracking using Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager and Hotjar, and developed a reporting dashboard with Google Data Studio.
We also added a portrait Susan had commissioned, provided by local company Beth Hodge Photography.
Marketing materials
In addition, we designed business cards for Susan Sheridan Consulting, using a white version of the logo on an orange background. The reverse side of the business card features a watermark of the motif and offers space for personalised notes, something that the client indicted she likes to include.
We also developed branded PowerPoint and invoice templates for the client.
