Shutter Inspired

Drought-resilient beans in Tanzania

We were approached by Photojournalist Georgina Smith to set up a new website, Shutter Inspired, to showcase her work, including:

Working throughout East Africa and South East Asia, Kenya-based Georgina has provided photos and stories to a wide range of news outlets, including The Guardian and the BBC.

Solutions

Shutter Inspired website

We helped Georgina develop a WordPress-based site which will allow her to add new content easily and regularly. Georgina aims to blog a couple of times each month.

We also incorporated the FooGallery plugin to allow for easy development of portfolios. The galleries include both images and captions. The captions also link through to full articles and external image galleries as required.

Pages have been developed using the Elementor plugin, a drag-and-drop interface that allows the client more creative control over her content.

Search Engine Optimisation (SEO)

In addition to the site, we conducted keyword research using the Google Ads keyword planner tool. We took keywords and phrases provided by the client and looked for supporting phrases popular in the key target areas in Africa and Asia. The client used these suggestions when developing the on page content for the site.

Analytics

We incorporated Google Analytics (GA) on the website so that the client could also gauge its performance. This allows Georgina to see who looks at her site, how they get there and what they read.

We also developed an interactive reporting dashboard using Google Data Studio to present this information in an engaging and simple to understand way.
