We recently worked with James Wilson Interiors on the development of a new website, brand identity and business stationery.
The interior design company works with a wide range of clients, including individuals and businesses. They are based in the Stockbridge area of Edinburgh but work throughout the UK.
Established in 1992, James Wilson Interiors have steadily built up a loyal customer base. They source products from the finest suppliers to find the perfect fit for each project.
The main requirement for the client was a new website. Their existing site was set up by a company no longer trading, so they needed one they could update themselves.
They wanted the new site to feature strong visuals to showcase the quality of their work and products. They commissioned a local photographer to capture some of their recent projects. The images feature in page banners and a gallery, while a video sits on the homepage.
We also worked with the client on new content for the website, conducting keyword research to ensure the final copy matched what potential customers were looking for online.
Their existing Facebook page was added to a Business Manager account, enabling them to run ads in the future. By adding a Facebook Pixel to their site, these ads can be targeted to those who have already visited the site.
New James Wilson Interiors brand identity
During the project, we noticed that there was no consistent, cross-channel brand identity. The logos used on the website, business cards and on the shop’s signage were all different. In response, we produced a logo based on the text style used on the previous website. We delivered this in a range of formats for online and offline (i.e. print) use.
We also worked with the company on the development of new business stationery, including business cards, compliments slips and letterheads.
The front of the business card features a Spot UV element, meaning the logo has a glossy finish while the rest of the card is matt.
The stationery is printed on a premium paper stock to convey a sense of quality. This is designed to reflect the service and products offered by the business.
The logo and main website colours are based on the shade of paint used on the shop’s exterior. We used a Pantone colour chart to find the closest match.
The client also expressed an interest in switching from their existing email provider. We worked with them to set up a new account under their hosting package, migrate their existing emails and switch over the system so anything new went to the right place. We also helped them implement their new email account on a number of devices.
